Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay was arrested in London overnight for assaulting a photographer outside a nightclub.
A reportedly drunken Jay Kay launched into a verbal tirade against the paparazzi assembled outside the Kabaret nightclub in central London, before singling out a photographer for a dose of face-slapping.Security were unable to remove Jay Kay from the vicinity, police were summoned, and the singer was cuffed and escorted to Saville Row station for questioning.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said, "At approximately 2am this morning an officer on routine patrol in Upper John Street was alerted to a large crowd of people, including photographers, outside a night club.
"A man approached the officer and alleged he had been assaulted at the scene. He did not require hospital treatment. There are no further details about injuries.
"The man who is in his 30s was given a caution for common assault and he has been released with no further action."
