Shortly after creeping in almost unnoticed on the final announcement for Splendour in the Grass, Strokes member gone solo Albert Hammond Jr. has announced shows up the east coast of Australia.
It will be his first tour of Australia as a solo artist and the first time in a while he's played venues of this size. While The Strokes are more a vehicle for singer Julian Casablancas, Hammond Jr. got his ideas out with the help of a number of guests, including Casablancas (apparently no hard feelings then!), Ben Kweller and Sean Lennon.
His second solo album '??C??mo Te Llama?' will be out in July.
The singer's short foray down under will stop at:
JULY
30 - Prince Bandroom, Melbourne
AUGUST
1 - The Gaelic Theatre, Sydney
2 - The Zoo, Brisbane
3 - Splendour in the Grass, Byron Bay (sold out)
Tickets for all shows (except Splendour) are on sale next Monday (June 30).
