Staind has downed tools on their 6th studio album. To be called 'The Illusion of Progress'.
The follow-up to 2005's 'Chapter V' was produced by Johnny K and recorded in the home studio of singer Aaron Lewis.The original line-up featuring Mike Mushok (guitar), Jon Wysocki (drums, percussion), and Johnny April (bass, vocals) is also still in tact.
In a statement, Lewis said, "We went into the studio with the mindset of making our heaviest record yet, but the record that came out has flavors of Pink Floyd and straight-up blues. We didn't use the same rigs that we use onstage; we used all vintage guitars and amps, and I'm pretty psyched about it! The songs are pretty timeless in their texture."
Staind's debut album 'Dysfunction' sold over 2 million units in the US. The follow-up, 'Break The Cycle' did over 5 million.
Staind's previous 5 albums have sold more than 15 million worldwide.
