There will a new U2 album in October.
Manager Paul McGuinness had been talking to BBC's 6 Music about the new record - and when it might arrive.Speaking on BBC6, McGuinness said of the release, "I would think towards the end of October. We will obviously work with whatever technology is available to make the release of the new record as interesting as possible."
U2 has had two studio albums so far this decade. 'All That You Can't Leave Behind' came out in 2000 and 'How To Dsimantle An Atomic Bomb' was released in 2004.
In the same period in the 80s, the band released six albums, 'Boy' (1980), 'October' (1981), 'War' (1983), 'The Unforgettable Fire' (1984), 'The Joshua Tree' (1987) and 'Rattle And Hum' (1988).
There were three albums in the 90s, ''Achtung Baby' in 1991', 'Zooropa' in 1993 and 'Pop' in 1997.
The last new song from the band was the cover of the Skids 'The Saints Are coming' with Green Day in 2006.
