The Scissor Sisters have shown that they weren't just a flash in the pan, with the first single from their much anticipated 2nd album 'Ta-Dah', 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' debuting at #1 in the U.K. this week.
The impressiveness of this debut doesn't end there, it should be mentioned that while the band have had six top 40 chart hits in the U.K., this is their first number one.Not impressed yet? Well, they knocked off Justin Timberlake's new track 'Sexyback'. Now that's impressive!
The New York based band have always been the most successful in the U.K. and Europe and the band were signed to their label from their U.K. office.
In other Scissor Sisters news, front man Jake Shears has lashed out at Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour and called him "a bastard" according to NME.
Shears was allegedly invited to join Gilmour on stage in New York at Radio City Music Hall for two shows to sing the Floyd classic 'Comfortably Numb', which the Sisters had reworked on their debut album.
"I was practising it and doing my vocal exercises to it, but the day before the gig they decided not to have any guests. They canned me. Bastards! It was one of the worst things you can do to anybody. I kind of hate him for it," he told the UK tastemakers.
The album 'Ta-Dah' is out on or around the 16th of September, depending on which territory you are in.
