Les Paul, a legend in the guitar world, not only for his playing, but also for his development of the electric guitar (amongst other things) will be honoured in Milwaukee on his 93rd birthday.
Paul will "flip the switch" at Marshall & Ilsley Corporation's corporate headquarters in Milwaukee to light up the building in the shape of the Gibson Les Paul's that Paul designed in the 50s.Paul will also be signed 'The Early Years of the Les Paul Legacy' at Harry W. Schwartz Bookshops on Downer Avenue on June 20, and that day will also throw out the first pitch at the Milwaukee Brewers game.
Not a bad schedule for a 93 year old.
The next day, Paul will perform "An Evening With Les Paul and Friends" at the Pabst Theatre. If you're a sucker for special guests at shows, this won't be one to miss. In the past, Paul has been joined at his Monday night residency in New York by Paul McCartney and Slash amongst many many others.
