Despite stories on the internet to the contrary, Sean 'Diddy' Combs has not changed his performing name back to Puff Daddy, with the the rapper urging gossip bloggers to use their sites to encourage people to vote rather than spread rumors.
Combs, who started his music career as Puff Daddy and has had several name changes since then, sparked the rumors after writing a post on his blog that read, "This is your boy Puff Daddy." The post has now been changed to read "P. Diddy."Perez Hilton announced on his website that Combs had "resorted to going old school" with the name change and said, "We're calling him idiot from now on," leading other gossip sites to copy the story.
Combs posted a video on his MySpace page on Monday (June 9) in response declaring, "I have not changed my name."
