The Living End didn't quite get to AC/DC Lane but they did manager to squeeze a few hundred Melbourne fans into Duckboard Place last night.
The fact they were downgraded from the very cool sounding AC/DC Lane to something with a playground-type name of Duckboard Place didn't go unnoticed to singer Chris Cheney. 'Duckboard Lane?," he questioned. That is a terrible name. For one night only I declare this The Living End Lane".The sudden change of venue happened on Friday following a fire in a building alongside AC/DC Lane on Thursday night. Chef Jamie Oliver's Melbourne office was subject to arson. "When we heard we were going to play in AC/DC Lane we were chuffed," Cheney said. It wasn't to be.
But it didn't matter. In honor of Acca Dacca, The Living End ended their one-hour showcase with the AC/DC classic 'Jailbreak'.
The show was the first taste many of us had of the forthcoming album 'White Noise'. The song 'Raise The Alarm' will be a Living End classic.
The show opened with 'What's On Your Radio' from their 2006 album 'State Of Emergency'.
'White Noise' will be released in Australia on July 19.
