Digital sales for American Idol acts went through the room after the final show. The show generated more than 1.5 million sales in the four days after the finale show.
Winner David Cook was most popular. He sold 942,000 downloads alone, or more than 60% of the total.The 1.5 million Idol sales worked out to be about 25% of all sales last week in the USA.
Runner-up David Archuletta sold 323,000 downloads.

Brooke White with 47,000
Michael Johns with 40,000
Carly Smithson with 33,000
Syesha Mercado with 18,000
Kristi Lee Cook with 10,000
Chikezie with 5,000
Guests on the show also benefited. George Michael sold 83,000 tracks last week. Carrie Underwood had a 193% increase in sales, selling 64,000 units. ZZ Top's 'Sharp Dressed Man' was downloaded 14000 times. Collective Soul's 'The World I Know' had a 1000% increase, selling 23,000 sales. OneRepublic's 'Apologize' sold 40,000 units. It did 6000 the previous week.
