Neil Diamond opened his world tour in Rotterdam, Netherlands on Saturday night and took the fans back to his debut album from 1966.
Diamond's debut was 'The Feel Of Neil Diamond'. That low-key independent release on Bang Records featured his now classic 'Cherry Cherry'.During the set, Diamond clustered certain albums. There were four in a row from 'Beautiful Noise', two in a row from The Jazz Singer, three from the current 'Home Before Dark' and two in a row from its predecessor '12 Songs'.
Considering the amount of hits in this one set, it was amazing how many Diamond didn't get to. Missing was 'Play Me', 'Shilo', 'Stones', 'Soolaimon', 'Red Red Wine' and me. It was a testament to the caliber of this superstar.
