Judas Priest are heading to Australia with their legendary original line up for the first time in their near 40-year career.
The band, who formed in 1970, formed the foundations of heavy metal with classic albums throughout the 70s before their 1980 juggernaut release 'British Steel', which featured the singles 'Livin' After Midnight' and 'Breakin' The Law'.They are often hailed as the kings of heavy metal, taking the sounds of earlier (but not much earlier) acts Black Sabbath, MC5 and The Stooges and refining them into piercing rock 'n' roll anthems that would later spur on to the new wave of British heavy metal.
Halford himself is known as "The Metal God" and his piercing voice is like nothing you have heard before.
While Priest have made it down under several times, none of those trips have been the classic lineup of Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, K.K. Downing, Ian Hill and Scott Travis.
Tickets to all shows are on sale Friday June 13 through Ticketek.
