Steely Dan's Walter Becker is about to release his second solo album 'Circus Money'.
Becker's last and only prior release was '11 Tracks of Whack'.'Circus Money' was producer by Larry Klein (former husband and bass player for Joni Mitchell).
The album features Steely Dan musicians Keith Carlock (drums) and Jon Herington (guitar) along with Ted Baker and Jim Beard on keyboards.
Becker is lead vocalist, bass player and (on three tracks) guitarist. "The bass gave me a more powerful position to define the direction I wanted the music to take," he explains in a statement. As much as anything, that direction had to do with the fact that, for years before I started this project, I was listening almost exclusively to Jamaican music."
'Circus Money' will be released in July.
