It has been reported that 50 Cent may be about to sign a deal with News Corporation.
The deal is reported to be worth around $300 million to the rapper.News Corporation would bring the entire business of 50 Cent into the deal. Future recordings would be released through MySpace, Fiddy's touring, merchandise and his G-Unit Records label would be included in the deal.
This has become known as a 360 deal in the music business. Instead of an artist signing to a label for recording, a promoter for touring, a publisher for songwriting, all revenue streams are wrapped up into one deal.
Madonna recently signed a similar deal with touring company Live Nation.
Fiddy is still under contract to Interscope Records. His 360 deal with News Corp is not expected to be signed until next year.
