Amazing, Neil Diamond has never had a number one album in the USA until this week.
Diamond has had 5 number one albums in Australia with 'Hot August Night' (1972), 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull' (1973), 'Serenade' (1974), 'Beautiful Noise' (1976) and 'Greatest Hits' (1992).So finally after 40 years, Diamond is gracing the top of the US chart with 'Home Before Dark', his second album produced by Rick Rubin.
'Home Before Dark' sold around 140,000 units to grab the number one position in America this week.
In fact, it is a brand new top 3. Toby Keith is at no. 2 with '35 Biggest Hits' and at no. 3 Clay Aiken with 'On My Way Here'.
Other debuts this week include 'Gavin DeGraw' by Gavin DeGraw, 'Awake Live' by Josh Groban, 'Greatest Hits 2003-2006' by Dierks Bentley, 'Complices' by Luis Miguel and 'Stand Out' by Tye Tribbette.
Madonna lost the top spot after just one week. 'Hard Candy' dropped below Mariah Carey to come at no. 5 for its second week.
