Former Redgum frontman John Schumann will take his musical tribute to poet Henry Lawson to the stage.
The production of Lawson will be staged at Adelaide's Her Majesty's Theatre on September 15, 16 and 17 and in Tanunda on October 7.Henry Lawson is considered Australia's first poet. According to an information release about the show "He was a battler and an alcoholic who suffered from depression and almost complete deafness, living much of his life in poverty, but continued writing and inspiring those who were captivated by his work. He was a keen observer and through his poetry and prose provided a snapshot of early life in the bush and colonies".
Schumann has brought the show to the stage with the help of famed Aussie actor Max Cullen. The band The Vagabonds performing the music will include Broderick Smith and Mike Rudd.
