There isn't going to be a Last Shadow Puppets tour. Co-frontguy Miles Kane has told a UK newspaper that the success of the Arctic Monkeys/Rascals side-project has taken him by surprise.
Last Shadow Puppets also features Alex Turner. The pair recorded and released Last Shadow Puppets 'The Age of the Understatement' as a bit of a hobby, not expecting that it would have been as successful as it has. Last week, the album debuted at number one on the UK chart.Kane has been trying to get his full-time job, The Rascals, off the ground. They put in the hard-yards at SXSW in March and will release the debut album 'Rascalize' in June.
After SXSW, Kane devoted one month to Last Shadow Puppets, expecting that was all it needed. "To be honest, Alex and I didn't expect it to get blown up as it did. It's great that it did, of course, but now it's all about The Rascals again," he told the Daily Star.
Arctic Monkeys third album is currently at demo stage. They may also have a new album before the end of the year.
