Franz Ferdinand guitarist Nick McCarthy has a new album with side project Box Codax.
A duo, with Alexander Ragnew, released a limited edition 10" record called 'Naked Smile' on August 14 in the UK. The song is a cheesy primitive electro ditty with German-accented non-sequiturs egging on a sparse synth bump. The original and an extra, even freakier, version can be found on their myspace.Who knows what will appear on their full-length, 'Only An Orchard Away", released on September 4. The album will be released through The Thin Man label in the UK, and through Gomma Records in Europe.
Unfortunately, that's all Undercover has to report, since on the website Box Codax assert, "Tired of the usual rubbish when flipping the web we decided to keep the level of information low. As you can see there is nothing much anyway, which is good because it leaves more time for the essential things in life, like taking a walk or snorkelling the Pacific Ocean."
