Ben Folds promises a new album of b-sides, covers, film score work, EP tracks and other rarities.
The adopted Australian piano man has announced on his website the release of the oddly titled 'supersunnyspeedgraphic, the lp'. It promises to be a comprehensive collection of rare songs from his extensive career of writing sometimes cheeky, sometimes insightful piano rock. He notes that the 12-song release will include tracks from his rare EPs, b-sides, covers and songs he's written for film soundtracks. In true form, Ben's choice of covers is decidedly left of centre: The Cure's 'In Between Days', The Darkness' 'Get Your Hands Off Of My Woman' and his now legendary version of the Dr. Dre's 'Bitches Ain't Shit.'
Folds is spending most of September touring Australia with each major city's Symphony Orchestra, but he's also announced US dates for late October and throughout November. His US tour kicks off with a performance at Las Vegas' Vegoose Festival, then continues through the South, up to New York and Washington.
