Aussie soul singer Guy Sebastian is currently in Nashville and staying with music legend Steve Cropper.
After a major tour of Australia with Cropper and Donald 'Duck' Dunn and off the back of the platinum selling 'The Memphis Album', recorded with the Stax legends, Sebastian is in the States to start work on a follow-up.Guy is working with David Ryan Harris. Atlanta's Harris was the singer for 80s group Follow For Now. They had one album on Chrysalis, produced by Brendan O'Brien, who is currently working with AC/DC.
Harris is often seen on the road, playing with John Mayer. "I just spent a few days writing with David Ryan Harris and that went well we had a lot of fun too,' Guy said in a posting at his website. "On the first night I went to check out one of David's gigs and it he was amazing as usual. John Mayer was there too so was good to catch up with him. He just spent a month holidaying in Japan just getting away from it all so we were both majorly jetlagged".
Sebastian will also work with Cropper again for his next record. Reporting he, he said, "We had some ribs this afternoon and it was worth the long international flight just for that. We are meant to be writing but we are mainly just jamming and hanging out and getting ready for a little private show we have in a couple days. Their house is unbelievable, it's huge!! So much cool memorabilia to check out too".
One of the recent Guy Sebastian shows with the Cropper and Dunn was filmed at Melbourne's The Palms at Crown Casino.
The complete show, minus the new song 'Good Old Days', will feature on the DVD, due May 3 through Sony BMG. 'Good Old Days' may turn up on the next Guy Sebastian album.
