No wonder Madonna was so keen to become a Brit. The US pop superstar may be related to Prince Charles, according to information released this week.
Family tree site ancestry.co.uk has revealed a link between Madonna, Charles, Celine Dion and the Duchess of Cornwall.All people have a link to a French carpenter called Zacharie Cloutier who lived in the 17th century.
Zacharie settled in New France, Quebec in 1634, the records show, hence starting the Canadian lineage to Celine Dion.
The family went became one of the most influential families in Canada.
The link now between Charles, Camilla, Madonna and Celine Dion is extremely distant. Zacharie Cloutier is estimated to have more than 11,000 people today linking back to him.
In a statement, the website's spokesman Simon Harper says, "The fact that Camilla and Madonna are related, however distantly, highlights the truly unpredictable and entertaining nature of family history research."
