An Amy Winehouse performance scheduled for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Charity Gala on May 5 in New York has been canceled by the organisers.
According to a report in The Mail, a "close source" to the singer said "She has been told that she is no longer part of the programme."It will be a huge blow for her as it would have been a great platform to break America. They love her music over there but she has yet to do a tour."
It is reported that the singer was even granted a visa to tour, which is one step further than her last attempt to get to America for the Grammy's. The singer was forced to perform for the ceremony live from London.
Winehouse has never properly toured America, but she has performed there for South by Southwest in 2007.
