Kylie Minogue has spoken for the first time since being diagnosed with breast cancer, admitting that she “fell to pieces”.
In the interview, to be broadcast on Britain's Sky One on July 16 and in Australia on Channel 9 on July 17, Kylie spoke to British TV host Cat Deeley about how she coped with the initial bad news, and how she fought to overcome the disease.Minogue, sporting a short, scruffy haircut, looked healthy, saying, “The moment my doctors told me, I went silent.
“My mum and dad were with me then we all fell to pieces and I was saying, 'No, I'm getting on a plane.'
"They said, 'No you're not. Sit down.' "
Minogue soon returned home to Melbourne in May 2005 to undergo treatment at the Cabrini Hospital, where specialists removed a lump on her breast.
Her postponed ‘Showgirl' tour is set to recommence in Sydney on November 11, with the singer indicating she will spend Christmas in Australia with her family.
