The Australian summer touring schedule is picking up with announcements from Muse, Foo Fighters and Elton John.
Those ecstatic to hear the news of Foo Fighters current acoustic tour through the US will be apoplectic to hear that following their late-2005 stadium tour of Australia, the boys have just announced two intimate acoustic shows at the Sydney Opera House on October 3 and 4. In addition to the core group, they'll bring former Foo guitarist Pat Smear, as well as a violinist, keyboardist and percussionist. Tickets go on sale on September 7.Also, those wizards of histrionic prog rock Muse have announced an Australian jaunt in January. The dates, January 23 at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney and January 30 at Melbourne's Festival Hall, are suspiciously close to prospective Big Day Out dates. The announcement also promised Auckland, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth dates. Tickets for these shows go on sale September 11.
Finally, the bitch is back for the twelfth time. Elton John bring his new album 'The Captain & The Kid', the sequel to his 1975 classic 'Captain Fantastic & The Brown Dirt Cowboy', plus all his hits, to stadiums around the nation. He'll hit Brisbane's Entertainment Centre on November 26, Sydney's Entertainment Centre on November 28, Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on December 8, Adelaide's Entertainment Centre on December 9 and Perth's Burswood Dome on December 11. Tickets go on sale September 14.
