Britney Spears is close to having overnight visits with her two sons.
The 'Toxic' singer - who lost all visitation rights to two-year-old Sean Preston and 18-month-old Jayden James in January following a stand-off with police - has recently had limited access to the boys and is now showing signs of responsible parental behaviour.Mark Vincent Kaplan, lawyer for Britney's ex-husband Kevin Federline, who currently has sole custody, told America's OK! magazine: "Britney's progress over the last two months is good. But it's premature to say that two months shows a pattern of consistency.
"We need to see a steady, consistent trend of behaviour for a while. The goal is consistency over time with nothing at all out of the ordinary." Once Britney has proved she is a suitable mother, Kaplan says Kevin is keen for her to be involved in the boys' everyday lives.
He said: "Kevin's goal involves primary custody but also involves his desire to see Britney become, over time, a solid and substantial figure in her boys' lives. And she is inching toward that."
Earlier this year, Britney was sectioned at a Los Angeles psychiatric hospital following her bizarre behaviour. Her father Jamie is currently in control of all her affairs.
