Panic At The Disco has topped the Australian chart this week, with sales of just 5,255 units, despite being the biggest selling album in the country.
Figures for compilations are not included in the Australian chart figures, as they are by SoundScan in the USA.Applying the US format to the Aussie chart pushes the Panic album down to number three, behind the real number one 'So Fresh Autumn' and 'Triple J Hottest 100 Vol. 15'.
'So Fresh Autumn' slaughtered everything in its path in sales. It did 27,228 units, or around 22,000 more than the Panic album.
Even the Triple J album had double the sales of the official number one album. It sold 10,468.
The low sales figures are playing havoc with the official chart. Last week's number one by Cut Copy dropped to number 9 this week.
The low figures are also making for some interesting debuts. 'The 100 Most Beautiful Memories', a 6CD $40 set by Andre Rieu came in at number four after selling 3,455 units.
