Thank God for people like Scott Weiland. In a slow news week, we can always count on him to add some acceleration with his silly behaviour.
The ever-so erratic behaviour of Weiland took a new turn this week when the freshly fired Velvet Revolver frontman put Sebastian Bach's name forward as his possible replacement.Taking into consideration VR's past as Guns 'n' Roses without Axl, its almost humorous to think that the ex-Gunner VR peeps would even consider Axl's best friend as a replacement for their last wayward singer.
Slash must surely be considering continuing with Velvet Revolver as an instrumental band after a career with frontman Axl Rose then Scott Weiland.
Adding Sebastian Bach to the line-up would surely give Slash and Co. a reputation of "always marrying the wrong person".
After being dumped by the band, Weiland mouthed off to MTV this week saying "Good hunting, lads , I think Sebastian Bach would be a fantastic choice."
He referred to Slash as 'the illustrious 'Guitar Hero' Saul Hudson and took credit for naming the band. "I find it humorous that the so-called four 'founding members' of Velvet Revolver, better known to themselves as 'the Project' before I officially named the band, would decide to move on without me after I had already claimed the group dead in the water on March 20 in Glasgow," he whined.
And in another slap across the face of Velvet Revolver, he told MTV, "The truth of the matter is that the band had not gotten along on multiple levels for some time. On a musical level, there were moments of joy, inspiration, fun ... at times. But let's not forget the multiple trips to rehab every member of the band had taken (with the exception of one member , no need to mention his name)".
Despite the bitter fall-out this week, Slash has confirmed that there will be a third Velvet Revolver album.
That's great news. It means that there is now room for a Spinal Tap sequel as well.
