Jack Daniels' backing of the JD Set is nothing new for the company. Jack Daniels association with music dates back more than 100 years to 1892 when Jack had a band of his own.
Jack Daniel's started the Silver Cornet Band in 1892 in Lynchburg, Tennessee. The band is still together, as a matter of fact, but not with any original members.The current 12 piece band still tours in the US.

The JD Set is designed to allow music fans to pick the acts they want to see live.
Fans can vote at the website and pick from Mink, Dardenelles, Angelas Dish, Braindead Lovers, The Fumes and The Hot Lies.
Four of those six acts will tour Australia in the first of 4 tours for The JD Set throughout 2008.
The first JD Set national tour will kick off at The Metro in Sydney on Wednesday, 28 May, 2008.
That will be followed by a 10-date national tour.
