In preparation for their 2006 Video Music Awards, MTV assemble the brightest stars in music.
For starters, during the red carpet ceremony Fergie of The Black-Eyed Peas will perform her surprise international hit 'London Bridge' (from her upcoming solo effort 'The Dutchess'). And another tantalizing teaser comes from emo heroes My Chemical Romance who will premiere their new single 'Welcome To The Black Parade' from their new album 'The Black Parade'.And that's barely the beginning of this huge event. Kudos to MTV for choosing comedy rock animal Jack Black to present, but you can also expect live and pre-recorded performances by Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Panic! At the Disco, T.I., The Killers, OK Go, Ludacris with Pharrell, The All-American Rejects, The Raconteurs, and Justin Timberlake.
They also promise appearances by the biggest stars in music and entertainment today: Axl Rose, Lindsay Lohan, Kanye West, Paris Hilton, Diddy, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Pussycat Dolls, 50 Cent, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Chris Brown, Fall Out Boy, Rihanna, Busta Rhymes, Ne-Yo, Missy Elliott, Amy Lee of Evanescence, Lil Jon, Nick Lachey and even the cast of Jackass.
The MTV Video Music Awards take place on Thursday, August 31.
