Hip-hop communities worldwide are reeling at the news that a 59-year-old gay white man would like to make a hip-hop album.
That's right, Sir Elton John has told Rolling Stone that he would like to work with Dr Dre, Pharrell, Timbaland, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Eminem, "and just see what happens. It may be a disaster, it could be fantastic, but you don't know until you try.""I want to bring my songs and melodies to hip-hop beats," said Sir Elton. "I love these beats, but I have no idea how to get them."
The news comes five years after Sir Elton shared the Grammy stage with Eminem, performing the latter's hit 'Stan', to a rapturous ovation. Sir Elton also contributed a track to Tupac Shakur's 'Loyal To The Game' posthumous album. His remix of 'Ghetto Gospel' spent three weeks at the summit of the UK Chart. His new album, 'The Captain and the Kid', will be released in September.
