Tom Jones has called the Daily Mirror's story about him insuring his chest hair a joke.
In a statement at his official web site, Tom says, "the story published in the Daily Mirror (UK) on Feb 5 is completely fabricated. No such insurance policy exists or has ever been considered. We assume this is just the Mirror having a bit of fun and hope no one takes this kind of 'reporting' seriously".The newspaper article also published a picture and Tom with a women they suggested he was having an affair with. Wrong again. It was Tom's sister. "For the record, the lady in the image accompanying this article is not Mrs. Tom Jones," the statement says. "This is a photo of Sir Tom with his sister, Sheila. That the newspaper has constructed an entire piece on a completely false premise whilst proceeding to pass judgment on the look of a 70+ lady having an outing with her brother is beyond the pale. The only thing this article reveals is the standard of the Daily Mail's journalism".
Jones has sprung a Southern Hemisphere show into his schedule. Sir Tom will perform with Jimmy Barnes on March 1 at the Mission Estate Winery Concert.
