American prog metal band Dream Theater's impending visit to Perth proved to be a Spinal Tap operation for the band.
After a date change that originally clashed with Bon Jovi, the show was moved to the Australia Day public holiday.Australia Day in Perth is the day the city holds one of its biggest annual events, Skyshow. That meant traffic chaos.
To then top that off, there was a last minute change in venue from Challenge Stadium to Burswood Theatre.
The promoters were then faced with the prospect of alerting all fans to the change, which is near impossibly, meaning that someone had to redirect fans arriving at the original venue on the day to the new one ... across town ... on the busiest day in the city of the year.
However, one Dream Theater fan had a bit of fun with the situation. He created a send-up of the stuff-ups using footage of an old Nazi movie spoken in German and used English subtitles to portray the Dream Theater story.
Dream Theater were also equally humoured by the clip, so much so, that they played it to the audience before their Perth show.
At time of publication, the video had been viewed more than 25,000 times.
