Dolly Parton has signed a worldwide digital distribution agreement for her new album 'Backwoods Barbie'.
The eagerly awaited album will be Dolly's first mainstream album in 17 years.INgrooves has picked up the digital distribution rights for the album from her own Dolly Records.
"Well it ain't no surprise that the music industry is changing in a big way - and trust me, I know big. When we started Dolly Records we knew we had to be cutting edge as well as put out great music," commented Dolly in a statement. "After looking at the choices in digital distribution, INgrooves was the perfect partner for our first release. They had tons of experience and were flexible enough to work with a crazy country girl like me and I know we'll have a ball making waves in the digital world."
'Backwoods Barbie' will be released at the end of February. She wrote 9 of the songs for the record and produced the album with bandleader Kent Wells.
Dolly will showcase the album for industry at SxSW in March.
