The Police Return To Where It Ended

The Police are in Melbourne today for the reunion tour. It is an interesting city for the band to return to as the last official gig they had as a band was in Melbourne in 1984.

Rumours of a break-up swept the city at the time of that tour but were denied. They turned out to be correct and Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland headed home after their Melbourne show and into a messy break-up.

It took 23 years to heal the wounds, although there they did regroup for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

The Police were a band who never failed. They only every made five albums, every one was a hit. The band broke up at the peak of its career with 'Synchroncity' in 1983.

For those of you heading to the show, it will open with Message In A Bottle and end with Next To You, the first song off the very first album.

Here is your cheat-sheet for tonight's show, the setlist for the reunion tour show.
