Keith Urban has scored the highest-debut for a country single in Billboard's pop chart.
According to Contact Music, Urban's new single 'Once in A Lifetime' debuted at number 17 on the mainstream Billboard charts, the highest for a country single in its 62 year history. They went on to report that the single just pipped two country tracks that debuted at number 18; Eddie Rabbitt's theme song for Clint Eastwood's 1978 monkey movie 'Every Which Way But Loose' and Garth Brooks' 2005 comeback single 'Good Ride Cowboy'.According to his official site, Urban promised a return to the studio to finish off his as-yet-untitled album after it was delayed by a cheekily-dubbed "low key trip" to Australia in June. Urban's 2004 album 'Be Here' has sold double platinum in Australia and is still number 3 on the ARIA country charts. 2002's 'Golden Road' and his 1999 self-titled albums are amazingly still in the country top twenty.
Also, it's rumoured that Urban will return to Australia again in October, for a decidedly more low-key trip than the last one, which happens to be around the time of the ARIA Awards.
