Gibson Guitar has announced plans to merge with Danish audio company TC Group.
The TC Group makes premium audio products for musicians such as amplifiers, speakers, digital processors and guitar peddles.It's clients include recording studios, artists, radio and TV stations and theatres.
Gibson is merging with the company to buy into a slice of the new technology sector.
"This merger will revolutionize the music industry for many years to
come," Henry Juszkiewicz, Chairman and CEO of Gibson Guitar said in a statement. "The synergy between the two companies will allow us an enormous advantage in the development of new audio technologies and brings together two of the world's most powerful brands."
TC Group CEO Anders Fauerskov will join the new merged company in the role of Chief Operating Officer.
The new company will be known as Gibson Guitar Corp.
The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of February, 2008.
