The new line-up of Matt Finish, the respected Australian band of the 80s founded by the late Matt Moffitt, will release a retrospective album shortly.
The album, titled '1978-2008' will feature some new songs with the current line-up along with the classic tracks such as 'Short Note'.Matt Finish is now David Adams (vocals/guitar), Harry Brus (bass/vocals), new recruit Parrish Muhoberac (guitar/vocals) and original member John Prior (drums/vocals/production).
Founder Matt Moffitt died suddenly in August 2003. John Prior decided in 2006 to carry on the legacy of the band.
Explaining the band without Moffitt, who was the singer and songwriter in the band, manager Rob Prior says "How can you possibly replace someone as unique, gifted and charismatic as Matt Moffitt who died in August 2003? The answer is simple... you can't. But I believe the current incarnation has truly captured the energy and passion of Matt Finish... and David Adams has done an absolutely extraordinary job, singing his heart out and often spine chillingly close to Moffitt. Gradually the band is convincing the sceptics that Matt Finish is still an exciting and captivating live act and the numbers are growing as the word of mouth spreads".
The new tracks were recorded at John Prior's Unity Gain Studio in Erskinville in Sydney. '1978-2008' will be available at the band's gigs.
