The Police were the highest grossing band of 2007, selling 84 shows, 2.2 million tickets and earning $243 million.
The band reformed this year for a world tour which will continue to Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand and Europe in the new year.The history of The Police was short-lived. After the release of the first album 'Outlandos D'Amour' in 1978, the band recorded only 6 studio albums before breaking up 1984. In that time, they won 6 Grammy awards.
The 2007 tour was put together to mark the 30th anniversary of the release of the debut album.
On June 15, 2008, the band will headline the final night of England's Isle of Wight Festival.
