Robbie Williams has been forced to pay a 6 figure sum and apologize publicly to former manager Nigel Martin-Smith.
Williams attacked Martin-Smith in the lyrics to his 2006 song 'The 90's' from his 2006 album 'Rudebox'.The song spoke about how the former Take That manager ripped off the act and pocketed the earnings.
Martin-Smith took the allegations seriously enough to bring the matter to court. Williams claimed the lyrics were just a joke.
The court has agreed with Martin-Smith and now Williams will be out of pocket for his jovial words.
Martin-Smith "created" the boyband Take That and turned them into one of the biggest pop acts in British history.
When Williams quit the band in 1993, Martin-Smith sued him for breach of contract.
That lead to a decade long rift between the singer and his former manager.
After the song was released last year, Martin-Smith took immediate action and Williams was forced to re-record the song with new lyrics.
