Former Euphoria member and these days music industry exec Andrew Klippel is doing something totally different. Like his artistic father Robert, Andrew has created a work of art in a musical piece.
The project is called 'The Orange Album'.Klippel has created the musical piece with P'Nau's Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayers and jazz musician Mike Nock.
'The Orange Album' features 13 musical works simply titled 1 though to 13. Melbourne will witness the orange room experience at the National Gallery Victoria.
The artwork for the CD sleeve is an 8 page booklet, completely in orange. There is no text or pictures at all on the sleeve.
Andrew's father Robert Klippel was a well-known art figure in Sydney last century.
During his 60 year career, the elder Klippel earned the reputation as "Australia's Greatest Sculptor'. In the 1960s, art critic Robert Hughes claimed he was an outstanding Australian figure.
Robert Klippel died in 2001.
Euphoria had a number one hit with 'Love You Right' in Australia in 1991. Their other hits were 'One In A Million', also a number one, 'Do For You' (No. 7) and 'I Will Never Leave You' (No. 41).
The group disbanded after just one album 'Total Euphoria'.
The Orange Album was released this week through Warner Music.
