Donda West, mother of rapper Kanye West, has died in Chicago at the age of 58.
Donda was a well-known business woman in her hometown. She was chairwoman for the Chicago State University English department.Only this year, she published her book "Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star'. Kanye wrote the song 'Hey Mama' from his 2005 album 'Late Registration' for her.
The cause of death has not been announced.
