The Keith Urban/John Butler Trio ARIA Award collaboration will be released to benefit indigenous Australians.
An electrifying moment at the ARIA Awards, which saw country star Keith Urban hit the stage with John Butler Trio to play 'Funky Tonight', will be released on iTunes from Saturday November 3.All proceeds from the download sales will be donated to the Close The Gap campaign, an Oxfam offshoot which endeavours to achieve health equality for indigenous Australians.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander life expectancy is 17 years lower than non-indigenous Australians. Their infant mortality rate is three times higher.
Keith Urban said in a statement "Speaking about and wanting equality is one thing, acting on it is entirely different matter. I'm honoured to join with John in bringing awareness and action to Close The Gap and seek the love and justice our brothers and sisters deserve."
