Canadian warbler Alanis Morisette is overjoyed to act in a Philip K. Dick adaptation.
The former pop sensation spoke to Billboard about her forthcoming appearance in a feature film adaptation of the semi-autobiographical novel 'Radio Free Albemuth' by noted sci-fi author Philip K. Dick.She plays Sylvia, a character who simultaneously appears as a singer in a record label executive's vision as well as being an ordinary woman recovering from lymphoma who becomes his secretary and then soulmate.
Morissette told Billboard about her love for the revered sci-fi author, whose clumsily-titled stories 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?' and 'We Can Remember It For You Wholesale' were behind the cult films 'Blade Runner' and 'Total Recall'.
"I am a big fan of Philip K. Dick's poetic and expansively imaginative books," Morissette said. "I feel blessed to portray Sylvia, and to be part of this story being told in film."
Alanis Morissette's previous screen roles have included playing God in Kevin Smith's 'Dogma' and playing a lesbian on three episodes of extreme soap 'Nip/Tuck'.
