Natalie Portman has compiled a mix tape of her favourite tunes to release in support of FINCA, an organization that supports people with business initiatives in the poorest of countries.
The term "mix tape" is pretty loosely used nowadays though. It will actually be a play list available for $7.99 through iTunes.Portman's raison d'taire is to exude indie cool as well as do something good by the world, (oh and make a film here and there) and she seems to have pulled it off with this compilation.
Her choice cuts include tracks from The Shins (remixed by Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn and John), Antony and the Johnsons, Norah Jones, Devandra Banhart, the hideously underrated Curumin and M. Ward amongst others.
The tunes will be available through iTunes from October 30, and yes, even though many of the songs are available right now, just wait until tomorrow and give your cash to those in need.
