It was always too good to be true: a Sesame Street spokesman has confirmed that Britney Spears will not be appearing on the show to duet with Oscar The Grouch.
"There are no plans to have her on as a guest," press representative Ray Hammerman said.The music and children's entertainment worlds were abuzz with the news that Britney would filming with the legendary trash-bin dweller, best known to music fans for his seminal tune 'I Love Trash'.
And Undercover can exclusively reveal that the plans were stymied by Oscar's longtime girlfriend Grungetta.
In an exclusive interview, Grungetta told us, "As we all know, Oscar has long held an affinity toward trash. As such, there's no way that Britney Spears is going anywhere near him. Our relationship has endured many challenges since we first met in the early '70s. This is something I just couldn't let happen. I hope everyone understands."
