Speaking to LA Weekly, masked French robo-poppers Daft Punk insist that it's them on stage.
Since the duo have almost never appeared unmasked - there are a handful of rare shots of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo's faces - many have suspected that it could be anyone under those space-age disco motorcycle helmets. But Bangalter is confused with the question when posed by LA Weekly, is it really them up there in the pyramid pressing the buttons? He said, "You know, the people who ask that question don't seem to realize this - when you've got 20,000 or 30,000 people completely screaming at you up there, why would we want someone else in our place? If you were us, would you be somewhere else? I answer that question with a question."
Interviewer Randall Roberts noted that if it was him up there, he couldn't resist sneaking into the crowd to see the show. Bangalter replied, "Yeah, well, you've got your answer and I've got mine. I would not trade my place with someone else - obviously in a lot of respects."
