P.O.D., one of Atlantic Records biggest successes of the past decade, have left the label.
The band started out releasing their music independently and managed to sell around 40,000 units of their first three EPs, something that tweaked the interest from Atlantic.After releasing 'The Fundamental Elements of Southdown' in 1999, the band had its first million seller.
Dates across with US with Crazy Town and Staind followed and POD reached another benchmark when Adam Sandler used their song 'School of Hard Knocks' in his movie Little Nicky.
The 2001 album Satellite, produced by Howard Benson became another platinum seller for POD. However, in 2004, the band started to have internal tensions and guitarist Marcos left.
'Testify', the most recent album from POD, came earlier this year but failed to have the same commercial success as its processors.
In a statement at their website, the group announced "P.O.D. have left Atlantic Records. We've been proud to be Atlantic Recording Artists, but it's not the same place anymore. For most of our stay, we were blessed by a staff that was gracious towards our vision, faith, and love of music.... resulting in more than 7-million records sold. It's time to dream again with a new staff and we leave with grateful hearts".
