Jackson Browne, Graham Nash and Bonnie Raitt have again joined forces in the fight against nuclear power.
Almost three decades after the trio helped launch the 'No Nukes' series of concerts, they've been forced to rally again after news that a new nuclear reactor is to be built in the States. There hasn't been a nuclear reactor built in America since 1978."I thought it was a rotting corpse of an industry," Browne said, as the trio launched the website NukeFree.org. The site asks people to sign a petition against a bill that would expand federal loan guarantees for nuclear plants.
Browne continued, "The consequences of blowing up a field of wind generators would not be the same as blowing up a train full of nuclear waste."
Nash added, "Thirty years ago, we felt that this monster was dead. It's trying to raise its ugly head."
Other high profile acts adding their name to the cause include Pearl Jam, R.E.M., Ben Harper, Patti Smith and Maroon 5.
