Weezer front man Rivers Cuomo has compiled his favourite demos throughout the years and will release it in December.
Speaking through his personal MySpace page, he said "I've compiled a CD of my favorite demos from the years 1992 to 2007 and Geffen Records has agreed to put it out this December, on the eleventh. I hope you enjoy it."I may also be able to put out more demo CDs in the near future."
The original plan was to put the disc out with a book, but according to his blog he wants to separate the projects, with the music ready to go and the book out when it's ready.
"The book is now going to come out at a much later date, a year? Two years? Three years? I don't know. It's going to be very cool, though. I'm digging what I've already got (nearly 400 pages) and I'm enjoying the process of writing and researching."
In a previous blog he quipped "I am working on an amazingly cool creative project that is just as much musical in nature as it is literary. It may or may not be released by a book publisher. It is not a "memoir"."
He also cryptically mentions that the latest Weezer developments are "exciting".
At least fans only have a couple of months to wait before the demos can keep them happy while they wait.
