Radiohead's landmark seventh studio album has become a topic of conversation all the way to the White House.
'In Rainbows', released last week as a pay-what-you-like download, caught the attention of several White House staffers, though the most interesting response came from Bush's press secretary Dana Perino, who commented, "I don't even know what that is ... Is that a band?".At only 35, Perino's doing little to counter the stereotype of conservatives being dull, lifeless and out of touch.
The deputy press secretaries fared better, with Scott Stanzel saying he is an "appreciator" of their music, whilst Tony Fratto apparently plans to get the new album.
NSC spokesman Gordon Johndroe said he was "90% sure" he had some Radiohead music on his iPod. But when asked if he had any tunes from 2003's 'Hail To The Thief' album, he replied, "not that one".
