Sydney's first ticket instalment of the 2008 Big Day Out has already sold out, but there's still a chance to get tickets.
The first issue of the majority of tickets were grabbed by punters in minutes. Ticketmaster sold their 20,000 tickets within five minutes, setting a new record for sales for any event, musical or otherwise. The other 25,000 sold through the Big Day Out's own site were snaffled in an equally short time.There will be a final 10,000 tickets on offer through a ballot system via the Big Day Out dot com, so all is not lost for those who missed out this morning. Every Thursday for the next ten weeks 1000 tickets will be sold from the random ballot. It's limited to two tickets per person and you must register before Thursday October 18.
The Gold Coast event will go on sale tomorrow (Thursday October 11) and the Auckland, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth events are available on Friday October 12. Good luck, punters.
